AGM report & changes for 2008
The AGM opened and general details, club financies, etc were discussed about the past season. The chairman and committee stood down and nominations asked for to form a new committee.
Committee 2008 listed on contacts page :-
Ministox.
No changes for season 2008. The grading of drivers will continue to be done a Scottish national basis, with GMP grading the drivers in Scotland. The top points scorer of the monthly grading period must carry a silver strip on his / her roof and start at the rear of their grade for that month.
This is not a new rule but has not been implemented over the last few years, but will be now.
Brisca F2
This formulae will be promoted by Bill Barrack on behalf of CSC Promotions Ltd and will run to full Brisca rules with all F2 meetings being national points scoring meetings.
All drivers must purchase a full Brisca licence and grading will now be done by Brisca.
No day licences are permitted and the Ladies race will now no longer be permitted on a regular basis.
For season 2008, Brisca F2’s will have 9 race meetings at Crimond raceway :-

Saloonstox
A proposal for the full adoption of ORC Saloonstox rules for season 2009 was discussed, but the committee will speak to all Saloonstox drivers over the coming season to gauge their views and opinions.
A proposal for more prize money was also requested, the committee will discuss this in the new year as this will affect all formulae’s.
Hot Saloon’s
To assist both drivers and officials to reduce the unnecessary contact during the races, a white line will be painted on the track corners just over a car’s width from the inner Armco.
This will define a cars line when two cars are racing side by side going into the corner, the car entering the corner on the inside must not cross the line till out of the corner on the next straight and a car on the outside must not cross the line till out of the corner on the next straight.
This will stop driver’s drifting wide on the exit of the corners and putting cars into the tyre wall and also stop drivers cutting in front of cars going into the corner and putting car’s into the inner marker tyres / Armco.
The drivers rejected a proposal for monthly grading and for car radiators to be left in their original position.
Drivers did vote to have a maximum tyre price for each tyre. This led to general discussions on how to implement this along similar rules for the national Saloonstox, this led to a vote by the drivers and was rejected by one vote.
At the December committee meeting, the committee discussed the tyre situation in the Hot Saloon’s and have decided to leave the tyre rule as it is, with no change’s.
Hot rod’s
No changes to the Hot Rod’s.
The white line rule from the Hot Saloon’s will apply to this formulae as well.
A proposal was made to do away with the handicap system that is in place at present. The drivers present voted to do away with the handicap system and have all cars line up in normal grade’s. The committee have upheld this desecion.
Discussions are ongoing about two cars from Scotland being graded into the World final at Ipswich in 2009. This would be done by Scottish cars competing in qualifying meetings over season 2008 / 2009 at Crimond and Cowdenbeath.
Dates for these qualifying meetings are, July 27th, (Crimond), August 23rd, (Cowdenbeath), September 6 & 7, (Crimond), September 21st, (Crimond), October 11 & 25th, (Cowdenbeath).
Final details will be published when known.
Bangers
Proposals were discussed on an easier system for lining up cars at the start, the drivers voted to line up in points order, the top 10 cars only at the rear of the grid.
A proposal to allow engine swaps, (size for size), was rejected.
Drivers voted to allow the welding up of the driver’s door and to increase the maximum thickness of the driver’s door protection steel plate. The committee have decided to adopt the ORC rule on drivers door plate thickness and size.
The Banger team meeting will be using cars up to 1600cc maximum.
Ladies race’s
Ladies requested to open up the cars more at the start of the race and also to have more ladies Banger race’s.
Road going saloon’s
The white line rule from the Hot Saloon’s will apply in this formulae as well.
A proposal was made to stop driver’s stripping out their cars for this formulae, the vote on this ended up in a tie. The committee have decided to leave the stripping out of cars permitted as it is not a legal requirement to have more than one seat and interior for the MOT.
general
The club has purchased a breathalyzer machine for checking of drivers condition on race day’s. This will be used on a random basis over the 2008 season.
The machine we have purchased has three lights for reference when testing for alcohol, the green light is non present, the yellow light is a small amount is present and the red light means that the person is over the national legal limit for driving on the public road’s.
The committee have decided that if the yellow light is present on testing a driver, they will receive a warning, if the red light is present the driver will be loaded up immediately and a further punishment will follow.
This machine we have is as used by the Police force’s in the UK so is not to be messed with, you have been warned !!!!.
Driver’s were reminded about smoking in the pits when re-fueling cars etc and about the safety of using cutting equipment. Also they were reminded about using any lifting equipment in the pits, to make sure that items were safe for purpose and only qualified personnel to use them.
The dates for season 2008 were announced with the season starting on the 13th of April and finishing on the 12th of October.

Race order for Open Scottish weekend.
Any driver not racing on the Saturday that turns up on the Sunday will be allow ed in at the rear ofeach heat, but half lap down. If they score any points in the heats then they will be allocated their place on the grid in the final.
This does not apply to R.G.S, only cars racing on the Saturday night will be allowed to race on the Sunday as there might have to be split heats and new cars on the Sunday will completely upset the car split
As last year, all R.G.S. heats will be split into two in the race programme in case we have to have A,B,C etc.
The Hot saloons might have to be split also, but going by recent numbers, we should be ok.
As the Hot rods are on at Cowdie on the Saturday night as well !!!!, the best thing for them is to have their draw on track for grid positions. This will give us time to see what proportion of 16 valve and 8 valve cars we have so we can decide on how best to grid the 8 valve cars.
All other formulae’s will draw their grid position when signing in at the track office. This position will be reversed over the four heats to give us the highest points scorer’s at the front in the finals, with the champions being the first three over the line in the final, regardless of what happened in the heats.
All finals will be run their full distance of laps.
All finals will be as follows,
Ministox - 16 laps
Saloonstox, Hot saloons, Hot Rods, Stockarts – 20 laps
Bangers – 18 laps
Ladies races – 14 laps
R.G.S. – 12 laps
