Kids turn this time Scott and Heather headed off to Rowrah for a spot of practice on their hire Honda karts.
With a few minutes instruction in the pits they were let loose on the track. Track conditions were awful , it had been snow and sleet all day not ideal for first time on track.
Heather went out started off slowly and sped up as time went on , she never made a mistake and had nice lines .
Scott the pint sized madman went out foot to the floor pulled a full 360 at the end of first bend and recovered it without even slowing down . this is how he continued, he ran quick and pretty tidy but the kart did catch him out a few times being so wet throttle control was important so this resulted in a couple more spins but on a whole he did well for his first shot on a kart.
Next time it will be Scotts kart they use .The engine is ordered and should be here soon.
Scott’s new engine is a WTP class 60cc 2 stroke. Heather will be having my kart to race in the jr TKM class with 100cc restricted engine, but both will practice on Scott’s till they are a bit quicker and better  able to handle the faster kart.

SCOTT HAVING HIS FIRST SHOT ON HIS OWN KART WITH THE NEW ENGINE
scotts kart now fitted with 60cc 2 stroke wtp B1 engine capable of up to about 60 mph ,
Ok now whats been going on no updates on this page I hear some have asked.
Well heres how it is TKM has died a death and become obsolete so I have had to have a look at my racing and head in a different direction.
After lots of searching and a few phone calls I have found a new club in stranraer . A non msa club known as cults kart club . They run a 100cc open class(basicly theres a choice of engines).
I have just purchased a new engine a Iame Parilla 100cc engine(going to Manchester to pick it up next week) now this is faster than a tkm which I like the idea off, although it is only 100cc it does over 20000 rpm so I'm looking forward to racing it.
New numbers and plates have been ordered and I have to buy vega tyres too to meet class rules.
I am hoping to race either July if not July definitely august,
Membership to the club is only £110 for family membership and race entry fees are only £16 adult and £11 child which makes it very Cheap racing.
The kids will be racing their kart there too in the cadet class with Scott hoping to go out 1 week after his 8th birthday in august, subject to lots of practice before hand.they will be sharing Scotts kart at first but we hope to get a 2nd cadet kart for next season.

August 6th Cults kart club Stranraer

6am start and we headed off to get some practice at cults , this would be the first time Scott had a go of his own kart.

The weather was awfull pouring down huge puddles all over the place not the best bet out we went anyway.

Scott had a good day starting off with a first lap of 1 minute34 which he managed to get it rite down to 48 seconds , his fastest lap of the day, his next lap looked a bit faster but his mum dropped the stop watch as the lap ended in a huge slam into the tyre wall with a little too much understeer .

It did a little damage to the kart shattering the nose cone and bending a few bits and Scott ended up beside the kart rather than on it.

Thankfully only Scotts pride was hurt and the kart was soon repaired and he was back out lapping happily again. All be it a little more cautiously to start with.

He had about another 40 laps and his day was over as the clutch decided it had had enough , Scott wasn't inpressed and wanted to pinch bits from my kart to get back out , sadly the just wont fit

.oh and after scotts trip to cumbria last time we were not sure how hed get on , he didn't spin out once.

It was my first shot with my new engine and tyres the kart went well when it was running but the wet weather played hovoc with the electrics. my fastest lap was 33 seconds which I'm chuffed with as I am informed the club chairman does 23 second laps in his 250cc gearbox kart (way more power than mine) in the dry so in the dry I shouldn't be much off that.
